We are knee-deep in the winter holiday season. In fact, tonight is the last night of the “Jewish Festival of Lights” so we want to wish everyone a Happy Hannukah! There are still many, many holiday events to come, however, and since we’re fortunate enough to live in Bloomington, we have an amazing venue right out our backdoors.
If your child hasn’t experienced “Sarah’s Dream” tomorrow is the last chance to do so. Performed by the St. Paul Ballet Company, this is a showcase of scenes from their upcoming Nutcracker performance. Shows are at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. tomorrow, December 15 in the rotunda (East Broadway entrance) at Mall of America®.
Photos with Santa
Grab the kid, his or her wish list and head out to MOA to meet with the big elf and get a photo of the meet & greet. Since this event is co-sponsored by Grandma’s Cookies, expect some yummy treats as well. This happens through Christmas Eve and you can view the hours here.
Universe of Light Holiday Light Show
This is an ongoing event that may be ho-hum to the teenager but the little ones will love it. The Universe of Light gets a holiday twist with a mesmerizing display of not only lights, but holiday music and, what the organizers call “a breathtaking grand finale!” Smoke and strobe lights will be in use.
You can view the light show on Mondays through Saturdays through January 3 at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Use the South Avenue entrance to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America.
What a fun way to wrap up 2015 and ring in the new year! Bring the family to the Big Top where they can enjoy juggling, aerial work, contortion and more. There will be two performances, both with a countdown. At the 7 p.m. show the countdown is at 10 p.m. and at the 9 p.m. show it’s at Midnight.
Expect music, party favors and, of course the annual ball drop at the south entrance to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America.
