The Minnesota Zoo is a great place to explore a variety of animals, and learn about their habitats, what they eat, and a load of other educational facts. The Zoo is conveniently located at 13000 Zoo Boulevard Valley.

The animals are neatly displayed, and paved walkways will lead you to each one. There are over 4,300 animals housed in the Minnesota Zoo, and they continually add more. Some of the amazing exhibits that you will see include  farm, rain forest  and polar animals. Themed around the animal habitats you will journey to Russia to visit a Grizzly Bear or the African Coast to see the 3M Penguins.

The zoo is open all year, and there are interactive opportunities including feeding a shark and penguin.  Also available, is the breathtaking IMAX Theater, which is sure to please any thrill seeker. 


The price of admission is reasonable for a full day of interactive play, and viewing of a large variety of animals.

  • Ages 13 to 64 cost $18.
  • Ages 65 and over cost $12.
  • Ages 0 to 2 is free.

Hours of Operation

  • From October to April the zoo is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • From May to September hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • From June to August the zoo is open every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
