What’s Happening in Bloomington this Weekend?

It’s finally the weekend and if you’ve nothing in particular planned but feel like getting out and about, check out our list of activities going on this weekend in and around Bloomington.

Take in a Live Show

Mary Poppins is back and on stage at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, located just 15 minutes west of our city. Although this beloved Broadway musical is appropriate for children age 5 and over, none under the age of 5 will be admitted.

You can purchase “show only” tickets for “Mary Poppins,” or come for dinner and the show. Their menus are available to view online here.

The matinee tomorrow, Saturday the 28th of March is at 1:00 p.m. and the evening show is at 8:00 p.m. The show runs about 2 hours and 45 minutes and this includes a 20-minute intermission.

Get up Close to Sea Life

SEA LIFE Minnesota Aquarium has expanded the Stingray Adventure and is celebrating with a two-week long Housewarming Party. This is the state and, in fact, the Midwest's first and only stingray touchpool and sure to be a hit with the little ones.

The Housewarming Party features games, educational displays, prizes and more.

Minnesota SEA LIFE Aquarium is open tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and tickets are available online here.

The aquarium is located at Mall of America, 120 East Broadway, in Bloomington.

Bring the Kids to Meet the Easter Bunny

Easter is Sunday, April 5th this year and your children are cordially invited to meet the Easter Bunny and even have their photos taken with him. It all happens at the Mall of America tomorrow from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. and on Sunday from 11 until 7.

Get out of Town for some Home Improvement Ideas and Advice

Head to Blaine tomorrow for the Home Improvement and Design Expo. Here you’ll find more than 200 building and design experts from all over the Twin Cities, displays of new products, seminars, demonstrations and more.

There will be free giveaways to the first 100 people in line so plan to get there early. The Home Improvement and Design Expo is being held at the National Sports Center in Blaine, tomorrow only, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is $6 but you can get in free if you bring a canned food item.
