Here’s a quick look at just a few upcoming events you may be interested in attending right here in Bloomington.
Take the Kids Fishing
The yearly Bloomington Kids Fishing Fair is set to take place tomorrow at West Bush Lake Park. Get there by 8:30 to register and the fun begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 11:30 a.m.
The little anglers have a chance to win prizes and trophies for the biggest crappie, northern pike, sunfish and bass. Wouldn’t a trophy look cool on the mantel at home?
Moms and Dads might want to check out the presentations on lures, boat safety, knot tying, casting and more.
Bring a rod and reel for your child but tackle and live bait will be provided. For more on this, call 612-251-6115.
Become a TV Star!
TV’s “The Bachelor” and "The Bachelorette" are holding an open casting call at The Mall of America tomorrow, June 13. You must be single and at least 21 years of age to audition, but organizers say that all fans are welcome to attend. Auditions, however, are closed to the public, according to a story in the Daily Journal.
Find an audition application online here, or apply at the event, which happens from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow in the rotunda at MOA.
A Boomer Bash!
This one doesn’t happen for a few weeks, so mark your calendar for June 26 ― a night of dinner and dancing for Bloomington’s seniors. The theme is country-western and there will be line dance lessons from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., then dinner and then you get to show off the moves you learned earlier.
You must purchase your $15 ticket by June 19th and you can do that by calling 952-563-4944. The event is being held at the Bloomington Armory, 3300 W. 98th St.
Have a wonderful weekend!
