What’s up in Bloomington?

So much news and so little time to keep up with all of it! The holiday season is definitely upon us so today we present a sort of hodge-podge of news items and events from around Bloomington.

Be a Posh Mommy

Attend the Posh Mommy Holiday Party on December 10 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. You can enjoy shopping, sipping, mingling and giveaways, all while benefitting the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

This event is being held at Posh Mommy headquarters, 7800 Metro Parkway, Suite 104 in Bloomington. For more information call 248-722-1997.

Water, water everywhere

Yet we’ll be paying more for it next year, according to the Sun Current. Your rate hike will depend on how much water you use, but plan on it being between 7 and 13 percent over this year’s bills.

Why? Apparently, since we’ve had two wet years in a row, we’ve used less water from the utility and they won’t be meeting their annual revenue goal. So, despite the fact that we conserved water, we’ll pay more next year.

Then, there’s wastewater service – we’ll also be paying more for that in 2016. In fact, we’ll pay nearly 10 percent more than we did this year.

Mark your calendar

If you have some free leisure time left in your holiday calendar you may want to take note of these Bloomington events:

  • Nutcracker Ballet: through December 12 at Bloomington Center for the Arts, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Rd.
  • New Year’s Eve Blues Bash at the Doubletree: December 31. Check the website for details.

There are also tons of holiday events happening at MOA. See the list here.
