John F. Kennedy High School
John F. Kennedy High School is one of two high schools in the Bloomington School District. Among Kennedy’s teachers, 72 percent hold a master’s degree or higher. The school serves nearly 1,500 students in grades 9 through 12, with 1 teacher for every 17 students.
In 2013, Kennedy Senior High ranked worse than 58.3 percent of high schools in Minnesota.
In 2014, Kennedy 11th graders performed well on the math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments Series II (MCA-II) exams. More than 62 percent of them met state standards while the state average is only 50.6 percent.
School ratings site GreatSchools.org awards Kennedy five out of 10 stars and SchoolDigger.com gives it two out of five.
