Hubert Olson Elementary School serves 533 children in grades K through 5. Olson’s mission statement is to “create a unique and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to be lifelong learners through excellence, cultural and learning diversity, partnerships, and community involvement.”

Eighty four percent of Olson’s 4th grade students scored proficient or better in math on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments Series II (MCA-II) exams. The state average is 77 percent. Seventy five percent scored proficient or better in reading, which is par with the state average.

Olson Elementary offers before- and after- school daycare with the Kids' Safari Program. Hours of service are 6:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The school also offers an English language program, MN Reading Corps, Learn Green and Reading Roars.
Extracurricular programs include Bus Buddies, Camera Crew, Computer Crew, Green Team, Media Club, Safety Patrol, School Store, Student Council and Homework Connection.
Olson Elementary is a proud recipient of the MESPA (Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association) School of Excellence Award. MESPA endorses schools where principal, staff, students, and community demonstrate the successful undertaking of the Minnesota School of Excellence program.
